Homeobotanical (Hb) remedies are fundamentally a 'mix-and-match' system of prescribing, where the major presenting symptoms in every Patient are matched to a selection of Hb remedies from these forty-two main formulations. For instance, a woman having migraines with her periods might be prescribed the combination Hb MF (Migraine, Female hormones) to be taken three drops, three times a day. The amount of each of those two concentrates would be determined by the Practitioner to match the intensity of symptoms in the Patient. The final prescription is diluted and potentised (energised) by succussion, which is the process used in Homoeopathy to develop the full range of healing potential in a remedy. There are further specialised Homobotanical formulations beyond these forty-two main remedies that are covered more fully in the Course notes and texts. This International system of nomenclature for Homeobotanicals is used world-wide with the exception of Australia, where a separate and unique system of naming Hb applies.
